چکیده

Background and Purpose: Arthrosis of the first MTP joint is a common condition. Among available arthrodesis methods, plate/screw screw methods are current treatment choice. In this study, we investigate whether there difference between these two methods.
Methods: Thirty-four toes 32 patients with advanced arthrosis were included in study. Eighteen fixed plates/screws 16 cross-screws. radiological evaluations, malunion nonunion examined. Clinical evaluation was made according to AOFAS-HMI scoring.
Results: The mean age 57.74 years follow-up period 22.21 months. There no statistically significant clinical scores or union times groups. As complications, superficial skin problems developed 2 (5.9%) cases, deep infection 3 (8.8%) cases. groups regard.
Conclusion: Plate/screw cross-screw techniques give similar results cases joint. technique, which can be performed more easily has lower costs, should

First Metatarsophalangeal Joint Arthrodesis: A Retrospective Comparison of Crossed-screws, Locking and Non-Locking Plate Fixation with Lag Screw

Background:Locking plate fixation is increasingly used for first metatarsophalangeal joint (MTP-I) arthrodesis. Still there is few comparable clinical data regarding this procedure. Methods:We retrospectively evaluated 60 patients who received an arthrodesis of the MTP-I between January 2008 and June 2010. With 20 patients each we performed a locking plate fixation with lag screw, arthrodesis w...

Cost-effectiveness comparison of three methods of internal fixation for arthrodesis of the first metatarsophalangeal joint.

We used decision-analysis modeling to determine the most cost-effective fixation device among Herbert screws, AO screws, and the Luhr plate for first metatarsophalangeal joint arthrodesis. The model considered patient-reported outcomes at minimum 2-year follow-up, patient charges for the entire course of care, and event and outcome incidences within each fixation group. AO screws had the lowest...

First Metatarsalphalangeal Joint Arthrodesis: A Retrospective Comparison of Two Methods of Fixation

First metatarsalphalangeal joint arthrodesis is a well established and successful treatment; however there still remains controversy over the best choice of construct. We performed a retrospective study of patients undergoing first metatarsalphalangeal fusion over eighteen months (n=52) using either dorsal non-locking plate with additional compression lag screw fixation or dorsal non-locking pl...

First Metatarsophalangeal Joint Arthrodesis: A Retrospective Comparison of Crossed-screws, Locking and Non-Locking Plate Fixation with Lag Screw.

BACKGROUND Locking plate fixation is increasingly used for first metatarsophalangeal joint (MTP-I) arthrodesis. There are still few comparable clinical data regarding this procedure. In this study we aimed to compare the clinical and radiographical outcomes of crossed-screws, locking and non-locking plate fixation with lag screw for first metatarsophalangeal joint arthrodesis. METHODS A total...
